Classical Kicks embodies a fresh, fun, and uplifting approach to classical music programming and performance. It was created in 2012 by maverick violinist Lizzie Ball and born out of a desire to present classical music for a wider audience in a more down to earth environment. Mixing world class talent and music from the jazz, folk, world, pop and rock genres whilst weaving a classical thread throughout, Classical Kicks is a show for any music lover. Classical Kicks began as a residency at Ronnie Scotts in the upstairs bar (Ronnies Bar) which continues to thrive. Since then Lizzie has created a family show, children’s workshops, and a even a club classics meets classical instruments collaboration with DJ and Bestival Founder Rob da Bank. Classical Kicks will now host its very first festival this November 2017 in Lizzie’s home county of Derbyshire in the beautiful grounds of the Chatsworth Estate.
